Meet the founders

Rebeca & Walter

GoSouth Adventures started the way most good things do, as a university project and a shared instinct that there was a better way to experience the ocean. That was 15+ years ago. Today it feeds 25 families and runs one of Guanacaste's most trusted private charter fleets.

Walter a lifelong surfer and fisherman, Walter is the creative engine behind every GoSouth Adventures experience. He lives by the idea that the sky is the limit — always ready with a creative solution or a strategic decision. He knows where to go based on the morning's conditions, not a fixed route. In recent years he's also become the operation's master technician, keeping every boat in the fleet at peak condition so guests never feel the machinery behind the day

Rebeca is the reason nothing falls through the cracks. The local fruit sourced fresh that morning. The dietary restriction remembered from the inquiry form. The follow-up after a special request. She built the human side of GoSouth Adventures around one idea: the guest shouldn't have to think.

Together, they founded GoSouth Adventures with one boat and a clear purpose: private charters that are curated, not generic. Today the fleet has seven vessels and the purpose hasn't changed.

What we believe in

We don't look for reasons why something can't happen. We find the way it can.

Your group. Your day.

Every experience is built around who's coming, not what's on the schedule. We ask first, recommend second, and adjust when conditions change. That's what personalized service actually means.

The details guests always mention

Equipment renewed every 6 months. Fresh catch prepared on board. Seasonal menus sourced that morning. Clients consistently talk about the food because GoSouth Adventures runs a full F&B department that most Guanacaste charter operators simply don't have.

When something changes, we handle it

On the ocean, things shift. Wind, tides, a special request, a last-minute need. We don't look for reasons why something can't happen, we find the way it can. That's been our approach since day one.

We make it happen

Special dietary needs, a surprise birthday setup on a remote beach, hotel coordination, dietary restrictions. GoSouth Adventures has a reservations team, an operations coordinator, and a full-time chef specifically so nothing falls through the cracks.

Responsible operations

We operate in this ocean. We protect it.

Our commitment goes beyond the experience itself. Every tour we run is designed to minimize impact and protect the marine ecosystem we depend on.

  • Catch & Release Fishing

We practice responsible catch and release for billfish and roosterfish. Fish are handled with care and released safely, following local regulations.

  • Waste & Recycling

All boats are equipped for waste separation, and materials are properly recycled after every tour.

  • Low-Impact Operations

We reduce single-use plastics by using paper packaging, wooden cutlery, and reusable systems on board.

  • Ocean & Community Action

We support beach clean-ups in remote areas and participate in local sustainability programs and training initiatives.
