Before You Book
No. We tailor the day to your experience level, first-timers are welcome, and experienced anglers can focus on specific goals. Your captain will calibrate from the moment you step on board.
Half day (4hrs) is ideal for inshore fishing — roosterfish and jack crevalle, close to the coast, about 15–20 miles out. Full day (8hrs) is for offshore species — sailfish and black marlin, up to 35–40 miles out on larger boats. For blue marlin and yellowfin tuna, book the 10-hour offshore charter.
Yes, with three exceptions. Marlin, sailfish, and roosterfish are protected species and must be catch and release. We photograph them at the boat and return them to the water immediately. All other species are yours to keep. Your crew will fillet and pack the catch in Ziploc bags. Every hotel in the area accepts fresh fish — plan to enjoy it that evening.
Yes, always. Every GoSouth Adventures boat carries everything needed for fresh ceviche, carpaccio, or sashimi on board. On larger boats with a full kitchen (Fish Hooks and All In), your catch can also be cooked. If you catch it, we prepare it.
We don’t offer fish shipping. The catch is packed fresh for same-day or next-day consumption at your hotel — that’s when it’s at its best anyway. Most guests enjoy it for dinner the same evening.
